The Requirements for the Curing Room are as follows:
The size and location of the curing room should be convenient for material turnover and storage. It should allow easy access for film rolls, and the door should open easily.
The curing room's height should be between 2-2.5 meters and equipped with exhaust vents to allow the release of waste gases directly outside. You can also install small exhaust fans for periodic ventilation. Roof-mounted ceiling fans should be used to ensure uniform temperature in the curing room.
The curing room can be heated using electric heating, steam heating, or central heating. It should be equipped with a temperature control system, and a mercury thermometer should be used to verify that the temperature matches the set value. The walls, doors, and roof of the curing room should be insulated using materials like perlite or foam board to maintain consistent temperature throughout. Whether using external or internal heating, the goal is to achieve stable and uniform curing room temperature.
Film rolls in the curing room are typically stored on shelving units, horizontally, for easy rotation. During the curing process, the adhesive can still flow. Therefore, it's best to hang the composite film horizontally after it comes off the machine, following the conditions specified by the adhesive manufacturer for curing. The film rolls should not be placed upright or flat on the ground, as the adhesive may undergo secondary leveling during curing. If the rolls are positioned upright or on the ground, the adhesive may flow in the downward direction, resulting in stickiness at the ends of the film rolls or uneven adhesive distribution, affecting peel strength, and more.
The curing room should be managed by dedicated personnel, and work should be recorded to ensure that the curing process adheres to the specifications outlined in the process document. If the curing time is too short, it may lead to incomplete adhesive curing, affecting peel strength and leaving residual odors. Conversely, if the curing time is too long, it may result in poor film opening characteristics.
