Nine Materials that Can Be Used to Make Steaming Bags, Do You Know Them All?
Steaming bags are made of multi-layer thin film materials, produced in specific sizes through dry or coextrusion lamination. The composition of these materials can be divided into nine types. The manufactured steaming bags must withstand high-temperature sterilization, and their structural design should meet requirements such as good heat sealing, heat resistance, water resistance, high strength, and high barrier properties.
PET Film
Excellent mechanical performance.
Cold and heat resistance.
Excellent barrier properties.
Chemical resistance, resistance to oils, and most solvents, dilute acids, and alkalis.
BOPA Film
Outstanding toughness.
Flexibility and puncture resistance.
Excellent barrier properties, aroma retention, chemical resistance, especially excellent oil resistance.
Wide usage temperature range.
CPP Film (Cast Polypropylene)
Non-stretched, non-oriented polypropylene film.
Requirements for steaming-grade CPP film include a softening point temperature greater than the steaming temperature, good impact resistance, good resistance to media, and minimal fish eyes and crystalline points.
Aluminum Foil
Unique among metal foil materials in flexible packaging.
Unrivaled in water resistance, gas barrier, light blocking, and flavor retention.
Incomparable as a packaging material for long-lasting items.
Ceramic Vapor Deposition Film
New type of packaging film obtained by depositing metal oxide in a high vacuum on a base material such as plastic film or paper in a ceramic vapor deposition process.
Excellent barrier properties comparable to aluminum foil.
Good transparency, microwave permeability, heat resistance, and environmental friendliness.
Other Films (PEN, BOPI, PBT, TPX)
PEN: Excellent comprehensive performance, higher than PET in various aspects.
BOPI: Excellent mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and flexibility.
PBT: Good heat resistance, oil resistance, aroma retention, and sealing properties.
TPX: Lightweight, excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, and high transparency.
