What exactly are clear retort pouches?
Made from heat-resistant laminated plastic such as ALOX PET/BOPA/ RCPP.
Packing food products like soups, pasta, rice, sauces, and cook-in-a-bag meals are sealed and sterilized in these pouches with a maximum temperature of 121°C-135°C. Thus, they are the go-to packaging for convenience, processed, and pre-packaged food.
The clear retort pouch is generally made of three or 4 layers of substrate materials of composite materials which apply on ready to eat food industry. The outer material is usually laminated with PET or BOPA, and the thickness is usually 12μ or 15μ. But PET isn’t as good as BOPA at puncture resistance performance.
Also, BOPA absorbs water easily, which can affect the strength of the composite that's why we need pay more attention to the laminating process.
