Retort Pouch properties
A standard Retort Pouch is made of 4 layers, is FDA approved and has undergone sterilisation to increase the durability of the packaging.
Propylene. Acts as a heat seal surface and provides strength and flexibility.
Nylon. The layer which gives the pouch its abrasion-resistant feature.
Aluminium Foil. Capable of extending the shelf life of product and functions as a protective barrier to light, gases, microorganisms and odours. The stiffness of the aluminium foil enables the tear notch feature to be incorporated to the pouch.
Polyester. Provides high-temperature resistant, strength and ability to print graphic on.
